JCI ST. Mary's/Athens Regional HVAC Upgrades

Peachtree Mechanical Inc. was selected as the exclusive design-assist contractor for critical mechanical upgrades at Athens Regional Medical Center and St. Mary’s Health Care System, including air-handling unit installations serving emergency department and operating room environments as well as major chiller replacement projects. Each hospital operates with a separate, independent central utility plant, requiring site-specific planning and execution tailored to the unique infrastructure and operational demands of each facility.

All work was performed within fully occupied, 24/7 operational healthcare environments without disruption to patient care, clinical services, or life-safety systems. Through detailed pre-planning, constructability reviews, and close coordination with hospital facilities staff, infection control teams, and clinical stakeholders, Peachtree Mechanical executed complex installations seamlessly within critical and occupied spaces. Structural steel installation, equipment rigging, and system integration were carefully sequenced to maintain redundancy and continuous operation at all times.

The chiller replacements were performed within active central utility plants, where uninterrupted cooling is mission-critical to surgical suites, emergency departments, diagnostic equipment, and inpatient care areas.
