FAA WARRENTON HVAC UPGRADES
The FAA TRACON facility in Warrenton, VA required Peachtree Mechanical’s expertise for a critical upgrade project. Through a trade-off best value selection process, Peachtree was chosen as the general mechanical contractor to deliver the work.
The project included the replacement of three existing 500-ton chillers, along with associated pumps and cooling towers. It also involved the installation of a redundant water supply system to support the new central plant, as well as a new under-slab drainage system serving the entire mechanical plant.
Peachtree self-performed all major scopes of work, including concrete, structural steel, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical system installations, ensuring full coordination and quality control across the project.
Due to the critical nature of the facility, system disruptions were carefully scheduled to allow for the installation of a new DDC controls system and comprehensive electrical upgrades throughout the building.
Following the successful completion of the project, the FAA engaged Peachtree to perform additional upgrades to the boiler plant. This work was executed with detailed coordination and planning in close collaboration with the FAA director.
